The Friends of the Victoria Theatre is an independent group of volunteers who support the theatre and provide a link between the theatre and the community it serves.
Being a Friend of the Victoria Theatre is a great way to meet new people and get involved in projects that make a difference to the largest and oldest theatre in Halifax.
The aim of The Friends of the Victoria Theatre is to help the theatre to thrive and improve, and to provide an extra resource to achieve things that the theatre may not be able to do on its own. The Friends meet regularly and all members have input into the planning of projects.
One group of Friends researches the fascinating history of the theatre and has uncovered details of the wide variety of events that have taken place there over the years. Plans are underway to display some of their work in the theatre foyer area and also on the theatre’s website.
Friends offer tours of the theatre, which you can see advertised in the theatre’s brochure and on the website. There are also sometimes opportunities to participate in practical projects to improve the theatre. To book a Friends tour of the theatre please click here
Membership of the Friends is free of charge. For more information, or to sign up as a member of the Friends of the Victoria Theatre, ask at the Box Office or email vtfriends@calderdale.gov.uk.
