‘CONNECTED’

2022 UK TOUR

CREATED BY ASHLEY BANJO

After nine sell out UK tours, over 600,000 tickets sold, and countless television and live performances Diversity have announced one of their biggest UK tours to date for spring 2021 and are coming to the Victoria Theatre Halifax on Sunday 24 April 2022.

In 2019 Diversity celebrated 10 years since they took the nation by storm when they won the third series of Britain’s Got Talent. Since then, thanks to the overwhelming support of their fans and the British public they have continued to wow audiences around the world with their innovative live tours and performances. They celebrated this incredible achievement with a critically acclaimed  sell out 48 show UK tour in 2019, Born Ready.

Diversity’s new tour is set to be even bigger, and as Diversity promised their fans on the Born Ready tour, they will continue the legacy of Diversity and never let anyone tell them they cannot achieve something. To take them into the new decade of Diversity, Ashley has created a new show, ‘Connected’, which centres around the world of social media, the internet, and the digital era we now live in, but more importantly how this connects us all.

Creator and choreographer Ashley Banjo said of the forthcoming tour, “Every year that goes by, and every time we get to create a new touring show, I cannot believe we are still lucky enough to get to do this. But even after all this time, we are still growing, and this new decade and new chapter for Diversity is sure to be something even more special than the last. I truly do believe that we are all connected in mores ways than one and I cannot wait to bring this to life on stage.”

Ashley Banjo has appeared on the judging panel for his third series on ITV’s primetime show Dancing on Ice which in 2019 featured fellow Diversity member Perri Kiely competing for the winner’s trophy.  Ashley has also hosted, choreographed and starred in the BAFTA nominated The Real Full Monty (2017-2019) and International Emmy Award, Broadcast Award, and Royal Television Society award winning The Real Full Monty: Ladies Night (2018) and (2019). Ashley’s show Flirty Dancing on Channel 4 completed it second hit series last December.

Fellow Diversity member Jordan Banjo recently hosted the second series of BBC 1’s primetime show The Greatest Dancer.

Important Information

Due to the current Coronavirus outbreak and the Government measures implemented to limit its spread, the Diversity 2021 tour has been postponed. The rearranged tour will instead take place on Sunday 24 April 2022 (from Sunday 21 March 2021). Customers are advised to keep hold of their tickets as they will be valid for the rescheduled dates.

Artist statement:

It’s with a heavy heart and great disappointment that we have to announce that the Connected Tour has been rescheduled. It’s just not possible to go ahead with the dates starting in the Spring 2021. The health of everybody; fans, stage crew, performers & venue staff is what is most important and has had to take precedence.

Everyone has been working tirelessly behind the scenes and the tour will move to 2022, we’re gutted we just couldn’t make things work any sooner. It’s the longest tour we’ve ever undertaken and we want it to be the best possible experience for you all.

Thank you for your understanding, these are truly extraordinary times. We can’t wait to see you all as soon as its safe and possible to do so, in the meantime stay safe and take care of each other. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Victoria Theatre COVID Vaccination and Negative Test Policy

The Council and Theatre staff are excited to finally host full scale events after being closed for over 18 months. We know that many of our customers are eager to return to live entertainment and would like life to go back to ‘normal’. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic means that there is a need to continue to protect ourselves, our audiences, and our community, and make some difficult decisions that will help us to prevent the spread of COVID.

For a safe, considerate, and enjoyable experience for everyone the Council has decided to implement the following from the first full size, main house event on Thursday 26 August 21.

We are asking all ticket holders to provide ONE of the following:

Proof of double vaccination via the NHS App using the COVID Passport OR

Proof of a negative lateral flow test, logged within 24 hours of the event OR

Proof of a negative PCR test, logged within 24 hours of the event

You can provide these via the NHS App, which can be used to log all lateral flow and PCR test results. It also records vaccinations and can be used as proof of vaccination. You can also request a paper copy of your Covid Passport using the NHS App.

Please note: The NHS App is different from the NHS Test and Trace App.

We appreciate that not everyone is able to use apps and will therefore also accept the following as proof:

Text / email confirmations of negative test results logged with the NHS OR

A timestamped photograph of you with your negative lateral flow test OR

A COVID vaccination card showing double vaccination and matching photo identification

To further protect ourselves and each other, we are continuing with the programme of enhanced cleaning and continuing to encourage visitors and staff to wear masks while moving around the venue.

As we are all aware, theatres and live entertainment venues have been hit particularly hard by the pandemic, we were some of the last places to open and are likely to be the first places to close should the need arise for a return of restrictions.

We really want to make sure that we can remain open, to bring back the joy of live entertainment and shared experiences to all, so that we can all feel as ‘normal’ as possible under the circumstances.

We greatly appreciate your support, kindness, and cooperation during this time as we continue to protect ourselves and each other.

If you have any queries about your booking, please email box.office@calderdale.gov.uk and we will respond to your enquiry as soon as possible. We are currently operating on reduced hours in the box office so recommend that you email instead of calling or attending the box office.

Please refer to our FAQs for more information.

The door times for all events are an hour before the show is due to start and we will be checking everyone as they come in. Please arrive as early as possible, as there may be queues.
