Poet; Rock Star; TV & Radio Presenter; Comedian; Cultural commentator - Dr. John Cooper Clarke is returning to the Victoria Theatre Halifax for another electrifying evening of poetry and the spoken word.
John Cooper Clarke shot to prominence in the 1970s as the original 'people's poet'. His unique poetry and rapid-fire delivery were recorded and put to music by legendary producer Martin Hannett. Spawning great tracks such as Evidently Chicken Town, Beasley Street and The unique and massively popular I Wanna Be Yours - covered by the Arctic Monkeys on their classic album AM. The accompanying book 10 Years In An Open Necked Shirt was the best selling UK poetry book of the 80s. Since then his career has spanned cultures, audiences, art forms, and continents. His recent book The Luckiest Guy Alive published in 2018, saw him consolidating his position as the UK's most popular poet. His much-anticipated autobiography I Wanna Be Yours is scheduled for October 2020 Release. . His unique show featuring all the greatest hits plus a lot more has been running in theatres worldwide for over 15 years.
John Cooper Clarke has been re-scheduled to Wednesday 27 October 2021 (from 10 July 2021, 27 January 2021 and Wednesday 22 April 2020)
We're pleased to confirm that your existing tickets will be valid at the rescheduled date and we hope you can join us. If you have chosen to collect your tickets from the Box Office at the time of booking, your tickets will still be available for collection up to the date of the rescheduled show.
If you are unable to attend, tickets must be returned to the Box Office by 31 August 2021 for a full refund – The Theatre and Box Office remains closed to the public, however we currently have a small number of Box Office staff administering refunds so please bear with us at this busy time.
If you have Victoria Theatre tickets bought from the Box Office and would like a refund - these will need to be returned to the Box Office for a refund (as this event has been postponed and to allow tickets to be resold).
If you have Print at Home Tickets and would like a refund- If you have print at home tickets and would like a refund, please return the original print at home email which included the link to the ticket pdf (with the subject line - Your print at home tickets are ready - PLEASE PRINT) to the Box Office at firstname.lastname@example.org
If you have purchased tickets though a ticket agent (eg Ticketmaster, SEE tickets, Skiddle etc) or any other channel and would like a refund- you will need to contact the agent directly to discuss your booking and their terms and conditions and refund policy will apply.
PLEASE NOTE: The £1.75 Theatre Support Fee that is automatically added to all tickets is non refundable. This fee is essential to supporting the theatre operations, particularly during these difficult times and it will be used to help provide necessary equipment for the safety of our audiences once we re-open for shows.
