Halifax Comedy Festival on Tour: Stand-Up Comedy at Albany Arcade at Halifax Market featuring Nick Doody

Nick Doody

I love Nick Doody," says The Independent, describing him as a "drunken, gagged-up Richard Dawkins." One of the brightest talents on the comedy circuit, Nick is celebrated for his razor-sharp political and satirical humor. He’s a comedian who isn't afraid to speak his mind, earning him fans across the country.

Nick's career got off to an incredible start when, as a student, he was personally requested by the legendary Bill Hicks to support him on his final UK tour. Since then, Nick has performed his stand-up all over the world, even becoming the first British comedian to perform in Croatia.

In addition to his live shows, Nick is in high demand as a writer, having penned jokes for comedy greats like Joan Rivers and Lenny Henry, as well as for regulars on Mock The Week. His solo shows, including the acclaimed Before He Kills Again, have consistently received rave reviews and sold out at the Edinburgh Festival. Nick’s work has also been featured on TV and radio shows such as The Mark Thomas Comedy Project and The Now Show.

Dave Twentyman

Affable, quick-witted banter merchant, Dave Twentyman survived a childhood in St Helens by evolving rapid, startlingly-bright patter and a smile that he somehow stole from Barry Manilow. This is a man who could teach Teflon a trick-or-two but who remains vastly more fun than your average frying-pan. What higher praise can there be?

A regular performer at many of the best weekend clubs in the country, Dave has also performed at a number of music festivals over the years such as Leeds, V Festival and Download.
